You will be a friendly face that holiday makers can depend on at the first step of their holiday, working closely with our Airport Operations Team to support passengers and ensure they have a seamless airport experience.Start Date:<ul><li>Once your 5-year work/address history has been completed and you are in possession of an Airside Pass.</li></ul>What’s on offer:<ul><li>Location: Stansted Airport (CM24 1QW)</li></ul><ul><li>Rate of Pay: £13.84 per hour </li><li>Shift pattern: 6 ON 3 OFF</li><li>Shift Times: 3 early shifts and 3 late shifts.</li><ul><li> Early shifts may start as early as 03:00, and late shifts may finish as late as 22:00. </li></ul><li>Weekly pay (every Friday)</li><li>Temp to Perm (performance-based)</li></ul>Key Duties:<ul><li>Screening of Hold Baggage: </li><ul><li>Operate X-ray and explosive detection systems (EDS) to screen checked-in baggage for prohibited and dangerous items. </li><li>Interpret images accurately to identify threats and escalate suspicious findings as per standard procedures. </li></ul><li>Compliance with Security Regulations: </li><ul><li>Ensure all screening activities are conducted in line with national and international aviation security regulations (e.g., ECAC, ICAO, TSA). </li><li>Maintain a high level of awareness and adherence to airport security protocols. </li></ul><li>Manual Bag Search: </li><ul><li>Conduct physical inspection of hold baggage when required, following established security procedures and with respect for passengers’ property. </li></ul><li>Use of Screening Equipment: </li><ul><li>Ensure all equipment is correctly calibrated, maintained, and used as per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines. </li><li>Report any malfunctions or irregularities in screening devices immediately to supervisors. </li></ul><li>Documentation & Reporting: </li><ul><li>Accurately complete all required security logs, reports, and incident forms in a timely manner. </li><li>Support investigations by providing detailed and factual information as needed. </li></ul><li>Cooperation with Airport & Airline Personnel: </li><ul><li>Work closely with ground handling agents, airline staff, and airport authorities to ensure secure baggage handling and smooth operations. </li></ul><li>Emergency Response: </li><ul><li>Respond swiftly and appropriately to security alerts, alarms, or emergency situations involving hold baggage. </li></ul><li>Training & Continuous Improvement: </li><ul><li>Attend regular training sessions on updated security procedures, threat identification, and equipment usage. </li><li>Participate in drills and internal audits to ensure constant operational readiness. </li></ul><li>Customer Service & Professionalism: </li><ul><li>Maintain a professional demeanor at all times while ensuring passenger safety and service excellence. </li><li>Handle inquiries and interactions with respect, confidentiality, and discretion. </li></ul><li>Health, Safety & Environmental Awareness: </li><ul><li>Follow health and safety policies while performing baggage screening duties. </li><li>Use personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary and contribute to a safe work environment.</li></ul></ul>Shifts:The Airport is operational 7 days per week and candidates will be working on a 6 on 3 off rolling rota and you will need to be fully flexible with the days and hours you can work. This could be subject to change!<ul><li>Day 1: 04:00 to 13:00</li><li>Day 2: 04:00 to 13:00</li><li>Day 3: 04:00 to 13:00</li><li>Day 4: 13:00 to 22:00</li><li>Day 5: 13:00 to 22:00 </li><li>Day 6: 13:00 to 22:00</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>You must of lived in the UK for 5 years or longer as you are required to complete a CTC for this role.</li><li>Passport or Birth Certificate.</li><li>UK Settled Status (If applicable)</li><li>Proof of National Insurance</li><li>Proof of (current) Address</li><li>5 Year Address History</li><li>5 Year Work Reference History</li><li>Successful candidates will be required to complete a basic DBS record check following interview in line with CAA requirements.</li></ul>PLEASE NOTE: As this position is in the aviation industry, successful applicants must be able to provide 5-year checkable history.
