About the role Every piece of RVT equipment that goes back out to a client site starts its journey in goods-in. When kit comes back from construction and industrial sites, you’ll be the person who checks it in, cleans it down and makes sure our workshop team receives it in a safe, ready-to-work condition. It’s a hands-on role that keeps our yard, wash bay and workshop clean, safe and running smoothly.What you’ll do<ul><li>Receive and book in equipment returning from client sites, checking it against delivery paperwork and our system</li><li>Inspect every item for damage, knocks, nicks and missing parts; photograph, tag and record what you find so the workshop knows exactly what needs attention</li><li>Decontaminate and pressure-wash returned kit, removing dust, concrete and slurry</li><li>Follow our asbestos, COSHH and decontamination procedures, wearing the correct PPE and RPE every time</li><li>Hand clean equipment over to the workshop team with clear notes</li><li>Move equipment safely around the yard and warehouse (forklift training provided)</li><li>Keep the wash bay, goods-in area and yard clean, tidy and hazard-free</li><li>Load and unload vehicles and support wider yard duties when needed</li><li>Report any safety hazards, near misses or maintenance issues straight away</li></ul>
What you’ll bring<ul><li>Hands-on experience in goods-in, returns, a yard, plant or tool hire depot, wash bay, valeting, recycling or a similar physical role</li><li>A good eye for detail and accurate record-keeping (handheld scanners or simple systems)</li><li>A safety-first attitude and happy to follow procedures to the letter</li><li>Comfortable with physical, wet and dusty work, indoors and outdoors in all weathers</li><li>Reliable timekeeping for a 7:30am start, five days a week on site in Sheffield</li><li>Nice to have: counterbalance forklift licence, CSCS card, asbestos awareness or COSHH training – we’ll train you if not</li></ul>
