Paid Search Media Buyer (eCommerce)
Remote (US time zones preferred, open internationally) · Contract to hire · $30 to $45/hr · Reports to the Founder
Search buying has changed.
Google does more of the work than it used to. PMax, Smart Bidding, and broad match will happily spend your client’s money for you. The buyers who win now know what to feed the machine: clean product data, the right signals, smart structure, and a clear read on margin.
At crackerJCK, we’re hiring a paid search media buyer for eCommerce brands in fashion, jewelry, and apparel. Google is your main channel. The products are high AOV, the catalogs run from tight to deep, and the shoppers take their time before they buy.
You’ll own search performance across accounts that add up to $150K to $250K+ a month in spend. You’ll build the structure, run the tests, and tell us what’s working and what isn’t.
If you’ve scaled search for a premium or luxury brand, we want to hear from you.
If you want to set up campaigns from a template and let them run, this isn’t the job.
If you’re the person who opens the search terms report first thing because something looked off yesterday, keep reading.
We use AI every day. We’re building Claude into how our team runs accounts, from analysis to reporting. You don’t need to know our setup. You do need to already use AI in your work and be quick to pick up new tools.
What You’ll Do
• Own paid search strategy and execution for eCommerce clients, with Google as the primary channel
• Build and manage Search, Shopping, and Performance Max campaigns
• Keep product feeds and Merchant Center healthy: titles, attributes, custom labels, disapprovals
• Scale budgets across a portfolio spending $150K to $250K+ a month
• Mine search terms, manage brand vs. non-brand, and protect brand spend
• Set bidding strategies that hold up when conversions are fewer and order values are high
• Plan around launches, drops, sales, and seasonal peaks
• Diagnose the full picture: is it the campaign, the feed, the price, the product page, or the season?
• Join client calls, present search results and plans, and work closely with our account managers, who own the client relationship
You’re A Great Fit If...
You’ve scaled search for eCommerce:
• You’ve managed Google Ads with real spend and can show results (ROAS, CPA, revenue, new customer revenue)
• You’ve worked on fashion, jewelry, apparel, or other high AOV brands
• Bonus: you’ve run search for a luxury or premium brand
You know Shopping and PMax inside out:
• You’ve fixed a messy feed and watched performance move because of it
• You can explain why PMax is spending where it is, and what you’d do about it
• You know when to let automation run and when to take control back
You think beyond the ad account:
• You look at margin, AOV, and new vs. returning customers, not only platform ROAS
• You’re comfortable in GA4 and Shopify, and you know attribution is never perfect
• You can tell when a product page or pricing issue is the real problem
You’re a strategist, not a robot:
• You challenge assumptions, including your own
• You don’t follow “best practices” just because someone posted them
• You can explain what you did and why in plain language
• You use AI tools daily and teach yourself new ones
You have ownership and urgency:
• You treat the budget like it’s your own money
• You catch problems before the client does
• You don’t wait to be told what to do next
Why This Role Is Exciting
This isn’t a maintenance job. You’ll work on beautiful brands with real budgets, and your work will show up in their revenue.
You’ll report directly to our founder, so good ideas get heard and acted on fast.
The role starts as a contract with a clear path to full-time. If you perform, you’ll grow.
This role is contract-to-hire. Additional benefits for full-time employees.
