Job Description
This opportunity is within Occam Group’s growing aerospace team. You will work with defence and civil aerospace clients across a varied portfolio of programmes covering both crewed and uncrewed aviation. You will use your engineering knowledge and experience to influence the design, operation and maintenance of complex systems. Depending on your experience and the needs of each assignment, you may contribute across technical delivery, programme support, client engagement and commercial development in areas including:
• Systems engineering — requirements development, architecture definition, integration support, V&V planning and model‑based engineering.
• Safety assurance — hazard analysis, FMEA and FMECA, fault tree analysis, risk management, safety assessments, safety cases and certification support.
• Technical leadership — guiding projects, supporting the development of less experienced colleagues and influencing key decisions.
• Commercial management — developing technical proposals and supporting the capture and contracting of new work.
• Project management – planning, coordinating and managing project delivery.
• Client partnership — acting as a trusted adviser and helping organisations deliver safe, robust and compliant solutions.
No two projects are the same, giving you the opportunity to apply your experience to varied technical, programme and client challenges.

We are recruiting flexibly and would be particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas. You are not expected to have experience across the full list:
• Airspace integration, including the integration of uncrewed aircraft into congested airspace
• Model based systems engineering and associated tools
• Counter UAS
• Propulsion systems
• Continuing airworthiness
• Structural integrity
• Digital twins and simulation

• Customer focus, with the ability to build strong relationships and understand complex client needs.
• Awareness of how technical proposals support the successful capture and contracting of new work.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical matters clearly to clients, delivery teams and senior stakeholders.
• A collaborative mindset and the desire to contribute to a consultancy with a rapidly increasing footprint and customer base.
Desirable requirements
• Chartered status, or demonstrable progress towards chartership through a professional engineering institution licensed by the UK Engineering Council.
