Company: Vable · Location: Da remoto (Regno Unito) · Work mode: remote

Location: Fully Remote, UK
Contract Type: Full-time, 6-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension, 40 hours per week Mon-Fri, 8.30am - 5.30pm, UK time.
Interviews: 2 stages, plus a short meeting with our Head of Product at final stage
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Reports to: Product Manager for Core Content

About Vable

Vable builds content intelligence software used by international law firms, consultancies and government teams. We help organisations turn information overload into competitive advantage.

Our clients rely on Vable to monitor thousands of trusted sources: the news sites, publisher feeds and email newsletters through which we track content for them daily. That only works if those sources are accurate, healthy and set up properly. Keeping them that way takes careful, hands-on work, and we need someone to help us do it well.

The Role

We are hiring a Content Operations Specialist to keep our source library accurate and reliable for clients. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of an extension.

You will work alongside our Data Specialist, setting up new sources and keeping existing ones working. Much of the job is hands-on: checking web pages and emails, working out why a source has stopped collecting content, and fixing it using our existing processes.

This is a small team of two, so your work makes a visible difference every day. The tasks are detailed, and much of it is about responding quickly to issues as they come up. No two days are quite the same: one day you might work through dozens of source checks, the next you might help deliver a large project for a client. This won't be a client-facing role, but client requests will come to you through our Customer Success team. If you love a system that runs like clockwork, and get a buzz from tracking down a problem and putting it right before anyone else notices, read on.

What You'll Do

Set up new sources for clients

Investigate and fix broken sources with the help of our internal tools, for example by reading a page's HTML, checking HTTP errors, or using XPath to extract relevant information

Carry out daily source maintenance, keeping error levels within our quality targets and fixing issues before clients notice them

Maintain publisher records, including name updates

Escalate wider issues to the Product Manager

Support client requests, from quick checks to migrations and bulk source projects

Take part in the maintenance projects we run at set points in the year to find hidden problems across our content

Share feedback on which parts of our tools and processes are slow or awkward, so we can improve them

Your work should show up in source health, fewer client-reported issues and faster turnaround on client requests.

Is This You?

Accuracy matters to you, whether at work or in your studies. You get real satisfaction from a system that runs smoothly, and when something looks slightly off, you want to know why and fix it.

You do your best work when you can settle in and focus. You like working at pace, moving from one problem to the next, and you enjoy the rhythm of fixing things in quick succession.

You might come from operations, data quality, research, library or information services, or a support role where you got deep into the data. You might also be a recent graduate. You don't need to be highly technical already: we will teach you how to read a page's HTML and use XPath to fix sources. What matters is that you are curious about how things work and pick up new tools quickly.

Essential Criteria

2+ years in a detail-focused role, such as data quality, operations, research or support

Excellent attention to detail, and the patience to do a high volume of similar checks to a consistently high standard

The ability to learn quickly, and curiosity about how websites and tools work

Ownership of your work: you see tasks through, prioritise without close direction and flag problems early

Clear written communication, especially when explaining an issue to colleagues

Familiarity with HTML or XPath is a plus

The right to live and work in the UK

Desirable Criteria

Comfortable working closely with Customer Success and Product teams

Experience in a fully remote technical environment

Why Join?

This is a role for problem solvers who like to see results. When you fix a source, content starts flowing to clients again straight away. You will have real responsibility from your first weeks and learn quickly alongside a small team that knows the work inside out. By the end of your contract, you'll be able to cover the content function on your own.

We are investing in better tools and processes for this work, and your day-to-day feedback will help decide what we improve first.

You're Probably Not the Right Fit If:

You find detailed, repetitive checking draining rather than satisfying

You would rather wait to be told what to fix than go looking for problems, or you tend to push on alone rather than speak up when you're stuck

You are looking for a role focused on strategy rather than hands-on delivery

You like the social aspect of corridor chats and time talking face to face. We have plenty of social interaction, but it is remote.

What Success Looks Like:

🟢 First 30 Days: Confident with our sources, publishers and tools, handling day-to-day maintenance and requests with support

🟢 First 90 Days: Setting up and fixing sources independently, with proactive source-health checks back on a regular rhythm

🟢 By 6 Months: Taking on migrations and bulk projects without disruption, and able to cover the content function on your own

What We Offer:

Remote-first flexibility, WFH and learning budgets. More than that, a supportive team.

We're a team that takes ownership, stays curious, succeeds as a team and treats each other well with kindness and empathy. That's not a values statement, it's just how we work 💚

Ready to Apply?

Submit your CV, cover letter and answers to the application questions. The process runs over 2-3 weeks and has three stages: an intro call with our People team, then an interview with the Product Manager for Core Content and another applicable Vabler. Final candidates will have a short conversation with our Head of Product before an offer is made.

🎥 We record recruitment calls with your permission to ensure fairness across our remote team. We hire based on skills, potential and passion, and are an equal opportunities employer.
