About Us
YouThrive Academy is part of Progressive Independence, a leading provider of care, education, and support for children and young people. Progressive Independence operates registered children’s homes, supported accommodation services, and alternative education and training programmes.
Through YouThrive Academy, we deliver accredited training, functional skills, and vocational qualifications for children and young people aged 8–17, with a focus on re-engaging those at risk of exclusion or who are NEET. We are committed to inclusive, trauma-informed, and child-centred practice.
Help children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) build confidence, develop independence and engage with learning.
What you’ll do
• Adapt activities and resources to help learners develop literacy, numeracy and practical skills.
• Help learners work towards their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets, support agreed interventions and share progress with teachers.
• Use positive, trauma-informed approaches to support behaviour and help young people feel safe and ready to learn.
• Keep learner records up to date, follow safeguarding procedures and take part in relevant training.
Working pattern
We set our own term dates and give young people breaks from learning throughout the year. These breaks may fall outside local council school holidays, and dates can be adjusted to meet the needs of the young people we support. Overtime opportunities may also be available.
