About Pact Coffee
At Pact Coffee, we're on a mission to transform the coffee industry by making exceptional speciality coffee more accessible, while creating a better deal for the people who grow it.
Our roastery in Haslemere is at the heart of our operation, where we roast, pack and prepare coffee for thousands of customers. We're a growing business with a passionate team, and we're looking for someone who wants to be part of an operation where quality, teamwork and great coffee matter.
The Role
We're looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Roastery Production Assistant to join our team at Pact Coffee's roastery in Haslemere.
This is a hands-on, varied role at the heart of our coffee operation, offering the opportunity to work with speciality coffee and develop new skills across roasting, production and order fulfilment.
You'll work alongside our experienced Production Roasters, learning how to prepare and support our daily roasting schedule, including warming up the roasters, preparing coffee batches and keeping production running smoothly. You'll also get involved in preparing customer orders, handling green coffee and incoming deliveries, and supporting the wider roastery operation.
No previous roasting experience is needed. We'll provide full training, with the opportunity to develop the skills and confidence to independently prepare and support the roasting operation as well as work across our wider production team.
We're looking for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in doing things well and wants to learn. If you like being part of a team, enjoy variety in your working day and have an interest in great coffee, this could be a great opportunity.
What You'll Be Doing
Coffee Roasting & Production
• Preparing the roasting area and equipment ahead of the production team's arrival.
• Warming up the roasters and preparing the first batches ready for the day's schedule.
• Moving coffee into position, helping to minimise downtime between roasting batches.
• Supporting the Production Roasters to keep the daily roasting schedule running smoothly.
• Handling green and roasted coffee carefully.
Roastery Operations & Equipment
• Cleaning and maintaining air filtration systems.
• Keeping the green coffee area and production workspaces clean, tidy and organised.
• Following equipment operating procedures and reporting any faults or maintenance requirements.
• Supporting general housekeeping across the roastery.
Production & Customer Order Fulfilment
• Preparing and packing customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Checking products and quantities to ensure orders are correct before dispatch.
• Supporting different production and fulfilment activities depending on daily requirements.
Goods In & Stock Handling
• Receiving deliveries and checking goods against delivery information.
• Putting away incoming goods in the correct locations.
• Handling green coffee, packaging and other production materials carefully.
• Maintaining organised stock areas and highlighting shortages, discrepancies or damaged goods.
Teamwork & General Responsibilities
• Working collaboratively with the wider roastery team to meet daily production requirements.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
• Being flexible and willing to support different areas of the operation as required.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
• Is reliable, punctual and takes pride in doing a job well.
• Enjoys practical, hands-on work and is comfortable in a busy production environment.
• Is organised and able to manage different tasks throughout the day.
• Is proactive, uses their initiative and can recognise what needs doing.
• Has a positive attitude and is keen to learn new skills and operate different equipment.
• Can work independently once trained, while also being a supportive member of the wider team.
Previous experience in production, warehousing, fulfilment or a similar environment would be useful, but isn't essential. Full training will be provided.
Interested?
If you'd enjoy working with great coffee, learning new skills and being part of a busy, friendly roastery team, we'd love to hear from you.
