Optime Group are searching for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join a well-respected and successful client in Avonmouth. This is a fantastic opportunity for professional drivers looking for consistent hours, structured shifts and predominantly local and regional deliveries, working with major high-street retailers.The operation supports deliveries to TK Maxx, B&M, Superdrug and Savers, providing a varied and fast-paced working environment.With immediate starts available and a straightforward onboarding process, successful drivers can get on the road quickly.What’s on offer:<ul><li>Rate of Pay:</li><ul><li>06:00–14:00: £20.03 per hour</li><li>14:00–22:00: £21.53 per hour</li><li>22:00–06:00: £23.03 per hour</li></ul><li>Normal working week: 48 hours.</li><li>Shift Pattern: Any 5 days from 7</li><li>Shift duration: 9.5 hours, including a 30-minute unpaid break.</li><li>Staff parking.</li><li>Weekly pay (Every Friday).</li><li>Temp to Perm (performance-based).</li><li>Availability: Immediate starts for suitable candidates.</li></ul> Key Duties:<ul><li>Transporting stock in secure roll cages.</li><li>Delivering a mixture of ambient, chilled and frozen products.</li><li>Ensuring all goods are transported and delivered safely and efficiently.</li><li>Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects.</li><li>Following all road transport legislation, Working Time Directive requirements and drivers' hours regulations.</li><li>Maintaining a professional and courteous approach when dealing with store colleagues.</li><li>Completing all relevant delivery paperwork and following site procedures.</li></ul>Delivery Routes - Predominantly Local and Regional:One of the key benefits of this opportunity is the delivery network, with the majority of stores located relatively close to the depot.<ul><li>60% of stores are located within 50 miles of the depot.</li><li>90% of stores are located within 100 miles of the depot.</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>A valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence.</li><li>A valid Driver CPC qualification.</li><li>A valid Digital Tachograph Card.</li><li>A good understanding of drivers' hours and road transport legislation.</li><li>A safety-first approach to driving and vehicle operations.</li><li>Good communication skills and a professional attitude.</li><li>The ability to work independently and manage deliveries efficiently.</li><li>A flexible approach to working days and shift patterns.</li></ul>Immediate Starts and Onboarding:Drivers can start immediately at SWROC, subject to successfully completing the required onboarding checks.The onboarding process includes:<ul><li>Driver assessment.</li><li>Drug and alcohol (D&A) screening.</li><li>Completion of any necessary site induction and compliance checks.</li></ul>Suitable drivers who successfully complete the required checks can progress quickly towards their start date.PLEASE NOTE: As this position is in the aviation industry, successful applicants must be able to provide 5-year checkable history.For an opportunity to interview for this fantastic role, please submit your CV to apply!Optime Group is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
